“I used to be a very type A kind of person. Very organized, very concise with everything that I did. Everything always had to be perfect, but as soon as I started teaching I realized that I couldn't be that way. Teaching high school has made me more of a relaxed, easy-going kind of person; I realized that I can be more relaxed and still get stuff done while being a good teacher. My advice would be to definitely do student teaching. That is a really good way to determine if you can handle being a teacher. It's very difficult to get into teaching if you have never done it before. And don't be afraid to get help from other teachers.”
