“My parents decided to make a move during Summer 2017 and the move sounded exciting because I had an opportunity to meet new people. However, for the next few days, I kept to myself, made a few new friends, and stayed in contact with those in Houston because I felt more comfortable talking to them than those at Flower Mound. The week after, I felt more comfortable in school, let my guard down, and decided to be more like myself. This helped me established more friendships at Flower Mound and feel more at home. So from this experience, it changed me to become more comfortable in unfamiliar settings and open my mind to new experiences in hopes of a positive outcome in the future. This experience also will help ease a similar dilemma I will face in college, where I’ll also meet more new people. Even though I'll be going back to Houston, I think these experiences will stay with me to remind me that I can go through any unfamiliar situation.”
