“So when I got all of my acceptance and rejection letters back, I had only gotten into UT Austin and Santa Barbara, so I visited both of them and just walking around Santa Barbara campus it was just so pretty and everybody there seemed so happy, and even though I’m not the biggest on social environments versus academics, the academics were only a little bit better at Santa Barbara but then the combination of that with just the amazing social environment and this beautiful campus just made me feel that I would have a lot more fun there on a daily basis than UT Austin. Just being able to kind of study in a really comfortable environment and being able to ask people for help, and they have this library, it’s really cool, and they have it set up so that the top floor is like dead silent and the bottom floor is more social, and just like that collaborative environment with studying and with doing homework and stuff seems really appealing. I’m doing a double major in math and physics and I’m really excited for that because they have this really awesome program called the College of Creative Studies and the way it works is it’s totally separate from most of the other college stuff and so they only have like four majors in that college and it’s really specialized in those specific things and they try to make it more research-based in that college and everything is more oriented towards the specific subject rather than a specific career you might be going into.”
